Children's Ministry

We want the children at Faith to learn how much God loves them and how to have a personal relationship with Christ. We provide an environment that is inviting and age appropriate, and that allows kids to have fun while learning more about God. Children's Church is available during the worship service for ages 2 1/2 through 2nd grade, as well as youth equipping classes for all ages during the Sunday school hour. We also have a staffed nursery for infants through 2 1/2 years old both during the worship service and Sunday school hour. However, children are always welcome to remain in the service with their families.

Children's Church

Our Children's Church uses the Kids' Own Worship curriculum. The children have some options for free play, then participate in a time of worship through song and prayer, hear a Bible story, and enjoy an activity that reinforces the story. On days when we have second hour classes, a snack is also served. We will spend summer and fall in the Old Testament, studying the New Testament in the winter and spring. We strive to use this time to reinforce basic Bible knowledge and knowledge of the Christian faith. Each week, we review where our story can be found in the Bible and how to find chapter and verse.

Youth Equipping Classes

Youth equipping classes (Sunday school) are available from September through May. The preschool class (age 2 1/2 to young 5) uses a curriculum called Teach, Take, Tell, which focuses on 12 key biblical truths for our youngest students. The story is repeated over multiple weeks, allowing children to master the Bible truth and scripture verse. Action rhymes, songs, games, and crafts reinforce and add variety to this basic core lesson.

What’s In the Bible? takes the young elementary students (approx ages 5-7) on a fun chronological journey through the Bible using a combination of videos, activities, and discussion. They learn lots of Bible basics and facts, as well as historical context. But, most importantly, they get the opportunity to see God’s Great Rescue Plan in place from before creation.

The Praise Factory demonstrates for older elementary students the consistency of God’s Word from beginning to end. Key biblical truths are shared through story-telling that draws from Old and New Testament passages, as well as other historical sources and more contemporary church or missionary accounts. Games and activities reinforce both the story and a scripture memory verse.

Built Right in Christ’s Kingdom (BRICK) digs even deeper into God’s Word, as well as a number of supplementary resources, to give middle schoolers a strong foundation for their faith. Students progress through an in-depth chronological study of the Bible, church history, and missions, all while gaining tools to defend and apply their faith with kindness and compassion in an unbelieving world.
